You DON'T have to BELIEVE Your Vision to Achieve It....

I first wrote about "A New Definition of Belief" in Conversations With The Greatest Networker....

The essence of what I said was that "Belief" as we've come to define it: "Knowing for a fact "was not a good thing. It was instead a Disempowering thing, because it is impossible to "know for a fact" anything about the future. So, I searched for a new definition and found it in the word itself.

BELIEF is made up of Be and Lief: Be, as in "To Be or not to Be." To Exist. But Lief was the interesting one. It came from Leubh, which means Love. What if, I asked, to BELIEVE simply meant to Exist as Love...?

Gives a whole new meaning to Napoleon Hill's famous quote:

"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."

It's impossible to know for a fact that you will achieve Your Goals or Live Your Vision, but you sure can LOVE the idea - yes?

Proof of the Truth of this New Definition of Belief came to me in the process of finding a new house. We had to move out of the old one by July 1 and as of Wednesday morning June 27, we still had NO House!

Oh, I had a Vision of a house - The Perfect House.... But I did not Believe (as in "know for a fact") for a minute we we're going to get it. I was convinced all our stuff would be in storage, 90-plus orchids paying rent in some greenhouse somewhere and Katyusha and I out on the street. No kidding! (I have a very creative imagination.) As the clock tocked and ticked away my anxiety went thru the roof we didn't have a roof above our heads and my "inner chatter" rose to the volume level of Primal Scream.

I had a vision of our House. I absolutely LOVED it. And I doubted, feared, worried all over the place that it wasn't going to happen.

Following are the pictures of the house we moved into Saturday June 30th.

Chalk up a Big Win for Be Love...

House From the Outside
Here's the house on a misty mountain morning. It's up about 1400 feet and takes 0.8 miles of gravel-dirt road to get to. There are neighbors on either side I'm sure we'll see when the leaves fall. Interestingly, that makes me smile....

dec
110 feet runs across and around the "front" of the house where we spend most of our working and living time. In my Vision I wrote that I think of plants as "living sculpture." Man do they love it here....

Some people have a view to die for. This one's a View To Live For. It's what we see from the deck. Down there in the middle is where my friend John David Mann lives. Those hills on the right are called the Ragged Mountains. Just behind the trees on the left is Thomas Jefferson's Monticello....

The Living room is an eight-sided affair with the fireplace in the center and the dining room on the other side. If you keep going around to the right you run into the atrium-greenhouse. (The orchids didn't have to camp out after all.)

Speaking of Orchids.... Even I like doing dishes here...:-) The kitchen is HUGE....

The dining room. Truly, a page right out of My Vision. I have a passion for things of the East.

My office: My Friend Randolph said, "John, you've had some pretty great office spaces. This one is The Best of all". He's right....
